Here it is:
YOU ARE INVITED TO 8 WEDDINGS IN 3 DAYS
Do you have the time to attend 8 weddings in 3 days? Before you turn down those invitations due to lack of time, check the bride and groom first!
Cairo ICT 2005 is marrying ICT to eight domains within 3 days of its forum which is running alongside the 4-day trade fair.
Their Excellencies the Ministers of Oil and Gas, Aviation, Industry and Foreign Trade, Tourism, Transport, Administrative Development, Information, and Finance, will chair sessions in the forum each of them is dubbed "ICT and ?", meaning a discussion and several presentations on how to improve performance of each domain through the introduction of ICT. H.E. the Minister of Communications and Information Technology will be present or will follow up closely their outcome.
The Ministers are not only presenting the sessions, but are also bringing to ICT professionals their plans and projects in the coming period to prepare themselves for such projects. The fruitful discussions will involve both sides of the equation and the sessions will also be moderated by professionals from the community, whether from MCIT or other bodies.
It?s undeniable that ICTs play a major role in empowering economic and social development, and in supporting decision makers who are addressing economic and social reforms; from developing human resources to promoting domestic industry and international alliances. Developed and developing countries alike have been focusing on developing the national infrastructure for communication and information technology in order to build highly efficient and competitive industries. Governments have set national plans to encourage private sector participation, to increase and shore up ICT-related investments; up swinging the standards by which the community performs requires the development and upgrading of ICT systems.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) has had its very own marks in trying to establish a fertile ecosystem for ICTs to nourish. However; the role of MCIT was never to function alone, instead it had to try to bring together all community sections for pursuing our place within the digitally-growing globe. Thus, MCIT and other ministries are constantly working on new initiatives to digitize government content in an attempt to both promote public use of the Internet and to electronically provide government services for all citizens. Various Ministries in fact have already started providing numerous web-based services to users, pushing us one step ahead where we can fit in smoothly within the wheel of decentralization and globalization.
The Government demand constitutes ? in fact ? a huge portion of the local market, as the building of the Egyptian information society requires starting up many national projects; for instance, cross sector projects within ministries and authorities to incorporate the information systems, data base networks and what follows from services such as training, consulting and technical support. Each Ministry or government authority takes responsibility of suggesting a group of projects through a plan meant to develop the ICT infrastructure, innovate new business processes and mechanize services provided to the public.
Vendors, professionals, investors and government officials will have an ample chance to study the problems facing each of them in expanding their digital angle. Whether the problems are shortage in investment, absence of well-trained calibers, knowledge, applications, systems, or a proper legislation system, the forums are intended to help find a way where we can fully Access the World of Tomorrow.
Now that you read through this article, aren't you interested in attending those wedding ceremonies, or at least one or two of them?
